Tim Jackson

Tim Jackson, President & CEO

President & CEO

Leading a strong and dedicated team, Tim is responsible for the overall management and operation of Shad Canada.

For Tim, Shad is not only where youth learn skills in STEAM and entrepreneurship, but where the next generation becomes equipped with the tools and resources to solve the world’s problems. He believes Shads are a collective force, just as likely to transform Canada’s not-for-profit sector as they are to build the corporate sector.

Tim has an extensive background as an entrepreneur, business and not-for-profit leader. He has served as CEO of the Accelerator Centre, an incubator for technology startups, Vice President at the University of Waterloo and Executive Vice-President at the MaRS Discovery District, one of the world’s largest urban innovation hubs. He co-founded Tech Capital Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm, and served as CFO and CEO at Waterloo-based technology firm, PixStream (sold to Cisco Systems). Tim has chaired boards such as The Ontario Trillium Foundation, The Waterloo Public Library, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and the Centre in the Square Theatre. He has co-founded two charitable organizations. When not working you will likely find Tim at the poker table or practicing magic tricks.

Jaime Jacomen

VP, National Programs

As Vice President of National Programs Jaime provides strategic leadership to the delivery of Shad programs and experiences across the country.

Jaime believes everyone can make a difference in the life of someone. She is proud of the unique opportunity Shad provides youth to discover their own gifts and passions, learn how to share those gifts and contribute to the world around them, and create action that leads to positive change and lasting impact.

For over 20 years, Jaime has worked in the chartable sector serving the community by gaining insight and understanding into social challenges, developing and providing responsive programs and services, and striving to influence system-level change leading to long term impact. Jaime leads and fosters a culture that values equity and wellness, offers experiences and connections that honour individuals for who they are while opening doors to learning and growth, and creates spaces where people feel a sense of security and belonging.

Outside of her work at Shad, Jaime enjoys spending time with her family playing games and exploring the outdoors, as well as volunteering and participating in community tables and events.
